The Privacy Policy ensures that all staff including directors, senior management, staff, contractors and volunteers will be aware of and will adhere to the requirements of JPS management of the privacy and confidentiality of all client information.
This Policy also confirms for clients that their proprietary information, which is collected or created during certification activities, is maintained in a private and confidential way.

JPS respects the privacy rights of all individuals and is bound to the principles contained within the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and with the associated 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act.
What information do we collect?
JPS collects and processes personal data about you when you interact with us and when you purchase services from us. During the provision of our services, including if you access our website, we may collect your personal information. The personal data we process includes:

How long will you keep my personal data?
We will not keep your personal information for any purpose for longer than is necessary and will only retain the personal information that is necessary in relation to the purpose. We are also required to retain certain information as required by law or for as long as is reasonably necessary to meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our terms and conditions.
Where you are a client, we will keep your information for the length of any contractual relationship you have with us and after that for a period of 12 months.

In the case of any contact you may have with our customer services team, we will retain those details for as long as is necessary to resolve your query and for two weeks after the query is closed.
We will retain your data for a short time beyond the specified retention period, to allow for information to be reviewed and any deletion to take place. In some instances, laws may require JPS to hold certain information for specific periods other than those listed above.
Where is my data stored?
We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold is protected against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We hold personal data in both hard copy and electronic forms in secure databases on secure premises, accessible only by our authorised staff.
Non-current information is archived in secure premises in accordance with our Archiving Policy.

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. This is necessary to ensure that personal information is provided only to the correct individuals and that the privacy of others is protected.
